Blog about book: Nigger.

I felt this book held a lot of truthes, but at a white person who does not feel prejudice, although i know i am in some instances, I felt uncomforatable reading some of the material. I think it is a very good thing that is book is out there and being read by people of all walks of life, and i really respect you, Mr.Smith, for making us read it.

Let's Talk About Race-

Why don't we talk about race. America today is like a shattered glass on a carpet. The glass is our prejudice, that fell on the ground and broke into a thousand peices, and we attemped to clean it up, a sweap with ending slavery, a light vacuming with the end of segregation, and any modern advancements are slight brushes. But just because the problem looks to be solved in our eyes does not mean we can leave the fragments of glass left in the carpet to lie there. It seems everytime we go back to the carpet, our feet get cut and everyone wonders why because we "thought we cleaned this whole mess up". I say it's time we let it all on the line, spoke for real about race, not holding in our thoughts for political correctness. Maybe someday we can get a stanley steamer for our carpet. Wouldn't that be nice?

Bowling for Columbine:

I did like the movie a lot. I think it raised a great issue to a forefront to create a storm to help the United States out. I do not however, like the lies and stretchings of the truth that the film creates. I feel that Michael Moore could have done a great job without lying or stretching the truth. My favorite part of the movie: Marylin Mansons talk. I think the thing he said about listening shows how out of touch the people who blame him for violence are.

Crito-

Socrates was such an interesting man. Everything he says makes me think. It is fun to listen to him pick apart Crito so easily. It just goes to show how powerful the mind can be. I really look forward to reading the rest of the book.
