In this section, Machiavelli explains many aspects of being a prince. How do control his people buy figuring out their character and devising a way to use them in a way that suits them and you. He explains how a prince must lay a solid foundation, but one that he can rule over and crumble, if he must do so. He explains about armies and peoples different jobs. "Mercenaries and Auxiliaries are at once useless and dangerous." Auxilaries can cause a prince much trouble, because with a loss by them, your army is gone and you are to be defeated, but if they win, they will expect to be treated very very well, and this may cause a military coup if a prince doesn't give them what they want. One of the last parts of this section speaks about how a prince should focus all of his time on war, not just being in war, but how to prepare for war, how to handle themselves in war, building an army, and other things. If a prince has these things all in line, he with surely never lose. A prince must be engaged with his army, and keep them well trained and happy with them. They should believe in the cause as much as he does. A prince must be everything. Condtradict himself he may, but he must be everything.
