Solomon in the Book of Proverbs (as seen on page 66) "He That troubleth his own house...shall inherit the wind."
I believe this to mean that someone who troubles the house of god, or troubles that which they believe in with get nothing in return. This relates to the book because in the end, Drummond doesn't win the case, and Brady dies, so the whole trial was basicly for nothing. They troubled with something they should have just dealt with quietly, which is what someone does in their own house, so in the end, they inherited the wind.
